Black & White Kitchen Design

Simple color combinations like black on white can make a beautiful kitchen, as seen in the picture above. The cabinets have an elegant inset which can be vividly seen with a white wood. Such insets and custom cabinet work are sometimes lost on darker custom cabinets making the white, lighter wood here a great choice. Darker black stain is used to accent the cooking and range hood area while white & gray bricking patterns are being used for the back splash area.

The granite used in the kitchen countertop is a dark tan which brings the black & white colors of the two cabinets together in a neutral, soft, earthy medium. Large beams at the top accent the cherry flooring adding more color and interest to this kitchen. Take note of the under cabinet lighting and the kitchen lighting used here as it lightens up the dark areas that could have otherwise be shaded.
